A Gift to The Nation:
Making Quality Cancer Care Accessible to All
Cancer touches countless lives across Trinidad and Tobago, affecting not just patients but entire families and communities. It was this stark reality, coupled with the personal loss of two of our employees to the disease, that inspired us [Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL)] to take decisive action in the fight against cancer. The result: a transformative US$10 million healthcare initiative reshaping the landscape of cancer diagnosis and treatment nationwide.

"...a comprehensive healthcare project"
PPGPL’s vision extended beyond a traditional corporate donation. We [The company] recognise that early detection and accurate diagnosis are crucial weapons in the battle against cancer, yet many citizens face significant barriers in accessing these essential services. This understanding drove the development of a comprehensive healthcare project that would touch lives across multiple communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
Today, this vision has become a reality by strategically placing 14 pieces of advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment across five major health facilities. Each piece of technology was carefully selected to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of existing oncology departments, from cutting-edge CT simulators and MRI units to digital mammography systems and mobile fluoroscopic equipment. This distributed approach ensures that quality cancer care is not a privilege but a right accessible to all citizens.
Below, we trace the journey of this transformative initiative from its launch in 2019 to its successful implementation, marking a new chapter in Trinidad and Tobago’s fight against cancer.
